Re:      OSHA (Blood Borne Pathogens and Standard Precautions)/HIPAA Training for students registered for undergraduate nursing clinical courses in fall 2007

_________________________________________________________________________________________________
The BS Committee in May 2007 revised the procedures for assessing student competence in OSHA- Blood Borne Pathogens and Standard Precautions knowledge and HIPAA knowledge.

Starting summer 2007, students will access the MANDATORY OSHA/HIPAA training modules on the CNHS website. Unlike in years passed, you will not have to come to the University of Massachusetts to complete in this training. This training is a requirement for you to complete before entering your clinical rotation. Please return 2 answer sheets only (one for the Blood Borne Pathogens/Standard Precaution and one for HIPAA) no later than August 23rd. If this requirement is not fulfilled, your name will be removed from the final clinical placement roster for the fall 2007.

Please contact Heidi Wallace at heidi.wallace@umb.edu with any questions. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
