Welcome To Clinical placement as of 1.12.06January 12, 2006 Dear Nursing Students: Important information about clinical placements below!
A revised FIRST WEEK SCHEDULE has been posted on the web! Please review for information pertinent to you! Notification was emailed to all students (and was posted on the web) with the dates and times that Dr. Merrow would visit classes with clinical preference packets. Dr. Merrow went to classes the week of November 7, 2005 with preference sheets for Spring 2006 clinicals. Students who completed a preference sheet have been placed (see dates below). If you were not in class the day Dr. Merrow visited your class, it was your responsibility to obtain a preference sheet and to see if you owed materials for clinical clearance. For those students who have submitted their materials - Spring 2006 clinical placements were sent out via UMass Boston email to students on the following dates:
If you did NOT receive your placement by email as stated above - check with one of your classmates who received an identical email or stop by the CNHS office and speak with the Receptionist. For confidentiality purposes, please be sure to have your student id. If you did not complete a preference sheet, you were not placed. - and right now the vast majority of clinical placements are already at capacity. If you did submit your preference packet by the deadline but do not see your placement, please email Monique.austin@umb.edu – she will respond to you as soon as she is able. Those who turned in their materials on time have been given priority in being placed. If you did not submit your clinical placement packet or clinical health clearance materials by the due dates, your placement for Spring 2006 will be done on a space available basis. Students who were enrolled during during the Fall 2005 semester or were previously inactive or on leave from the university and did not complete a preference sheet have not been placed. You will need to come to the College and complete a preference sheet and you will be placed on a space available basis. If you would like to request a change in your clinical placement, you must do the following:
The Student Affairs Committee is meeting today and there may be changes in the clinical placements. Any updated information will be sent out via UMass Boston email on Tuesday, January 17th.
