Welcome To SIgma Theta MEMBERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

Nursing UG and Graduates Students:

The Theta Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Nursing Honor Society, here at UMB will soon be notifying the National Headquarters with names of eligible students for invitation for membership. Students who meet the criteria below will be receiving letters of invitation from Sigma Theta Tau. We expect these letters to go out sometime late February or early March. There is a short turn around time so read all instructions carefully about getting information in.  The induction ceremony is planned for Saturday April 22, 2006 at the Phillips Old Colony House. We hope that eligible students take advantage of joining a prestigious organization committed to scholarship, leadership, and excellence in nursing.

Criteria for undergraduates:

·        Have completed NU 310

·        Have a GPA of 3.0 or above

·        Be in good academic standing

·        Rank in the top 35% of the class

Criteria for graduate students:

      Have completed at least 12 credits of study

      Have a GPA of 3.5 or above

      Be in good academic standing

      Rank in top 35% of class
