Welcome To Theta Alpha Awards

ATTENTION ALL Junior and Senior Nursing STUDENTS

Theta Alpha Chapter at UMASS Boston awards one Undergraduate, one Graduate and one Doctoral scholarship each year (see attached letter). These awards are usually presented at the annual induction ceremony. This year the induction ceremony is on Saturday, April 22, 2006.   Students do not need to be a member of Sigma Theta Tau to apply.  The awards, their criteria, and the application form are listed below.

Arlyne Barnett Undergraduate Student Scholarship  $500.00

Graduate Student scholarship  $500.00

Doctoral Student Scholarship   $500.00

CRITERIA:

A. A matriculated student in an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctoral nursing program

B. Demonstrated academic excellence/achievement

C. Fully completed application

D. Submission by deadline March 20, 2006 (Incomplete applications will not be considered)

E. In addition, one or more of the following criteria must be met for scholarship consideration:

1. Active member in the Student Nurse Association

2. Demonstrated community involvement

3. Faculty recommendation demonstrating clinical potential (recommended)
