ADDITIONAL PRACTICE PROBLEMS FOR  SAME 300.           SET 1

 

1. Lanoxin 0.125 mg IV qd.

2. Benadryl Elixir 25 mg Q12 hours as needed.

           Available:  Benadryl Elixir 12.5 mg/5ml.

3.  Heparin 7,500 units SQ BID.

         Available:  Heparin 15,000 units/ml.

 

4. Atropine 0.4 mg SC pre op.

          Available: Atropine 0.8 mg/ml.

 

5. Give 300 ml D5W over 90 minutes.    

          Available:  IV pump.  What will you set the pump at?

 

6. Heparin 1200 Units/hour.

           Available:  Heparin 40,000 units in 1Ltr. NS/IV pump.

          What would you set the pump at?

 

7. Give 250 ml D5NS IV at 60 ml/hr.

          Available:  IV infusion pump.  What rate?

 

8. Ampicillin 250 mg in 50 ml D5W.  Infuse over 30 min.

          Available: IV infusion pump.  What rate?

 

9. Ampicillin 500 mg in 75 ml D5NS IV q 6 hrs.  Give over 20 minutes.

          Available: IV infusion pump.  What Rate?

 

10. Give Aminophylline 60 mg/hr IV.

           Available: Aminophylline 500 mg in 250 ml D5W: IV infusion pump.  What rate?

 

11. Give Gentamycin 60 mg in 75 ml of NS IV over 1 hour.

          Available: IV tubing set drip factor = 15 gtts/ml.  How many drops per minute?

 

12. Give Heparin 300 units/hour.

         Heparin mix 15,000 units/Litre D5W;  IV pump.  What will be your pump rate?

 

13. Give 800 ML  of NS over 4 hours.

          Available : IV tubing set drip factor = 15 gtts/ml.  How many drops per minute?

 

14. Oxacillin Sodium 400 mg IV Q6 hrs. in 50 ml D5W.  Infuse over 20 minutes.

           Available:  Infusion Pump.  What will be your IV rate?
