Internship and practical field experiences

Students in each of the three concentrations participate in a 12-credit internship during the last semester of study. Our internship program is unsurpassed in providing practical experiences to effectively enhance your professional qualifications. We have numerous distinguished internship sites that will fit your own personal interests, including:

• Boston teaching hospitals (e.g., Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Joslin Diabetes Center, and Children’s Hospital).
• Research centers (e.g., Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University, United States Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM), and Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Cancer Center).
• Athletic performance centers (Northeastern University Athletics, Boston University Athletics, Boston College Athletics, and Sports Acceleration).
• Worksite and public fitness centers (Fitcorp, South Shore YMCA, Healthworks Fitness Centers for Women, Boston Sports Clubs, Reebok, and Sports Club/LA).
• Health promotion programs (Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Harvard Business School, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Wyeth Pharmaceutical).
