Dr. Eappen is a practicing anesthesiologist as well as a senior administrator at a busy teaching hospital. He estimates that close to half of his job involves conflict management and resolution. 

Dr. Eappen joined BWH in 1991 to complete his residency in Anesthesiology after graduating from the University Of Chicago Pritzker School Of Medicine. He was chief resident from 1994 to1995. He worked in various surgical subspecialties in the Anesthesiology department before being appointed clinical director in 2003 and Vice Chair in 2006.
