Accelerated Nursing Option Frequently Asked QuestionsHow will I know if the courses I have completed will fulfill the prerequisite requirements for the Accelerated Nursing Option? Attending an Information Session may answer some of your questions. You may need to bring a course description. We will consider science courses (Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II and Microbiology) that have been completed within 10 years of the date of your application. The information says that the Accelerated Option is full-time but can I work while attending the Accelerated Option? This program is a full time commitment. The courses and clinical's are offered at various times Monday-Friday. In addition to the course time and clinical time, there is homework to be completed. Students are not allowed to work while attending this program. Must I complete all the prerequisite courses before applying to the Accelerated Option? Yes. All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to applying to this program. Students who do not have their prerequisite courses completed and apply to the program will not be considered. How many people apply to the Accelerated Nursing Option? The number of applications varies. We are expecting around 150-200 applications for the February 1, 2010 deadline. How many students are considered and admitted into the Accelerated Nursing Option? We have 30-35 spaces available for accelerated students. All applications that have completed the prerequisite requirements will be considered for the program. Do I need to take the GRE's to be considered for the Accelerated Option? No. GRE's are required to enter graduate level programs. Completion of the Accelerated Option would earn a bachelor of science nursing degree (BSN). Is there a minimum GPA to be considered for the Accelerated Option? There is not a minimum GPA required to apply to the Accelerated Option. All applicants who have completed the prerequisite requirements will be considered. Can I take the CLEP Examination to meet the Growth and Development prerequisite requirement? NO. You must take a course in Growth and Development that covers the lifespan.
