PhD in Nursing Program Information Session

Tuesday, November 13th, 4:00-7:30pm
Campus Center Ballroom

If you are a prospective student, interested in obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Degree you are invited to attend Graduate Studies Showcase 2007 at UMass Boston Campus. The PhD in Nursing Program will have representatives to meet with you to discuss your academic goals, your specific interests, and your fit with the program. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide information regarding the curriculum and progression, research mentorship, financial support, internship placements and student organizations. Current PhD students and faculty will be available to share their insights and experience. This is a great networking opportunity and the information you hear may transform your career path and life.

Global Health: Views on Demography, Social Policy and Nursing

Dr. Patrice Nicholas is Director of Global Health and Academic Partnerships in the Center for Nursing Excellence and the Division of Social Medicine and Health Inequalities at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She is an expert in the care of individuals with HIV/AIDS, symptom management in HIV disease, and quality of life in chronic illness. She recently completed a Fulbright Senior Scholarship at the University of KwaZuly-Natal, South Africa where she continued her research work in HIV/AIDS. The Lecture is being supported by the PhD in Nursing Program, U56 UMass Boston and DF/HCC partnership and Theta Alpha Tau.
